In my nuanced redesign, I propose, in addition to the traditional redesign, that there should be a permanent display case where students and residents can bring significant objects from their home to be displayed, exemplifying their own histories to the public.

This case should be on a monthly rotation and at each round include three to five participants. Participants would have to volunteer and be randomly each month. Participants would be asked to bring is a few significant objects that represent themselves, as well as to write museum labels for each object.

In addition, participants' objects would be given to another participant to have them write a museum label as well. Participants would not be able to communicate with each other prior before the writing of the labels, as to give hints about he use and significance of each other's objects.

Each participants' objects will then be displayed in the case for a month with both their own written and peer's written label attached as a comparison.

Participant's Label:

A watch to help keep she or he on time to events and break the habit of running late.

Owner's Label:

A watch I wear during work hours. I like to arrive 15 minutes prior to a meeting. Furthermore, I do not like to constantly look at my iPhone for the time.

This would allow visitors not only to present their own histories but to practice presenting others, helping provide insight into the process and meaning of curation, thus, the museum.
